Covid-19 facility updates

**We will continue to update this post over the next few weeks as we get more information telling us when we can open the facility to different groups of people and members. Keep popping back to this post and checking the most up-to-date information.** The guidance we are following is from Table Tennis England: Coronavirus update— Table Tennis England

Updated: 14th May 2021

The Trustees are delighted by the Government announcement that the country is moving into Step 3 of the ‘Roadmap out of lockdown’ as of Monday 17th May 2021.

This has a direct, and positive, impact on Keighley Table Tennis Centre as follows:

Over 50s sessions can resume – for the first time in over a year, we can run organised Over 50s table tennis sessions again. We will limit all sessions to 16 people and attendance at the sessions is ONLY permitted by prior booking through our online booking system, ClubSpark. Follow this hyperlink and click on ‘sessions’ to view the Over 50s sessions which are available to book: ClubSpark / Keighley Table Tennis Centre / Home (tabletennisengland.co.uk)

Table Tennis court booking can resume – Up until 17th May, only people within the same household could play together. However, from Monday 17th May, it is permitted to play with people from other households providing the two restrictions listed further down are adhered to. Once again, we are operating a strict booking system so if you wish to play at the centre, you must book a table through the ClubSpark system: ClubSpark / Keighley Table Tennis Centre / Home (tabletennisengland.co.uk)

Two restrictions remain in place:

  1. No doubles play is permitted. Therefore, no table tennis playing court should exceed 2 players at once.
  2. A minimum of 9.29 sq metres should be available per person. The centre comfortably covers this requirement when numbers are restricted to 16 players in the main hall.

More information and detail can be found on the Table Tennis England website here: Coronavirus update— Table Tennis England

At all times, our members and non-members must adhere to basic hygiene and social distancing protocol as expected by the Government. It is everyone’s responsibility to ensure we all remain safe whilst taking part in the sport we all love!
